Between December 19-23, the Municipality of Budapest will be providing an opportunity to test its citizens with 5,000 rapid antigen tests. Testing will be available at four different locations, with preregistration required.
There was huge interest in the program, and all availability was reserved in one afternoon. This shows a huge demand and need for comprehensive, nationwide testing; however, Budapest does not have the possibility to carry this out. However, the government could do this.
Although testing is not a duty of the city of Budapest, we try our best within our capacities to stop the spread of the pandemic. Therefore, tomorrow we will examine ways in which we could increase our testing capacities in order to provide the option of free testing to as many residents of Budapest as possible.
